“Breema tells us that we need to develop ourselves, and shows us how to see and experience this essential need for ourselves. It points us in the direction we wish to go, and supplies us with the practical knowledge we need to correctly use the tools that were given to us to enable us to develop. Every step we take, even the smallest, comes with a deep satisfaction, as we begin to discover that the Nine Principles of Harmony indicate the natural state of our mind, feelings, and body as we move towards greater harmony within ourselves and with the entire universe.”

from Knowing and Being by Jon Schreiber

Self-Breema includes gentle stretches, rhythmic movements, and unique postures that range from energetic and playful to calm and contemplative. The main emphasis when learning is to bring the body and mind together through directing the attention to the body's weight, breath, and activity. Each exercise provides an ideal opportunity to develop an experiential relationship to one or more of the Nine Principles of Harmony: Body Comfortable, Full Participation, Single Moment/Single Activity, No Hurry/No Pause, No Force, Mutual Support, Firmness and Gentleness, No Extra, and No Judgment.

Self-Breema exercises support being present and studying ourselves. When we are present, our body, mind, and feelings work together. In these classes, w
e will learn a variety of Self-Breema exercises, taught by a rotating staff of  Instructors from the Breema Center and around the country.

Practicing Breema supports my life to come from complication to simplicity. Breema brings me to this moment. This is where I am the most comfortable.

One of the most important aspects of Breema is knowing-by experiencing- that body breathes and body has weight. That is something everyone can do. And by staying with it, the whole of Breema slowly reveals itself.
